TapGuessr is built to need as little about you as possible. You can play without an account, an email address or a name.

What we store

• A random player ID in a cookie, so we can keep your round and score when you come back. It isn't linked to your name or email.
• Your rounds: where you tapped, the hints you used and your scores. We use this to run the game and to find clues that are too hard or wrong.
• Your browser's language, to show distances in miles or kilometres.
• Your map settings (theme, map style and layers), saved only in your own browser.

Other services the page talks to

To draw the globe, your browser loads map data from OpenFreeMap and satellite imagery from NASA. Like any website, those services receive your IP address when your browser asks them for map tiles. We don't send them anything else.

What we don't do

• We don't sell your data.
• We don't run advertising trackers.

Shared results

If you share a result, anyone with the link can see your score and tiles. The answers and where you tapped stay hidden until that day's round is over.

Deleting your data

Clearing this site's cookies starts you fresh. To have your stored rounds deleted, email hello@tapguessr.com from the browser you play on and we'll explain how to find your player ID.

Changes

If this changes, for example if we add analytics or accounts, we'll update this page first.
