About TapGuessr

A daily geography game about surprising places and famous sports venues.

Every day there are five new clues. Each one describes a real spot on Earth, from a rabbit-covered island to a cricket ground with a sloping pitch. Tap where you think it is, see how close you got, and learn something about the place along the way.

How the questions are made

• Each clue is drafted, then checked by a person before it can appear in a round.
• The location of every answer comes from Wikidata, the open knowledge base behind Wikipedia, and each match is checked on a map.
• Facts that can't be confirmed are cut or rewritten.

Maps and imagery

Map data comes from OpenStreetMap contributors and OpenMapTiles, served by OpenFreeMap. Satellite imagery is NASA's Blue Marble, via NASA GIBS. The globe is drawn with MapLibre.
